Here's the most recent tutorial I've just updated. I just started chapter 6 and am learning about how to put text onto an image, change the font, and add color to it. On my next tutorial I will be learning how to change the spacing in text and how to adjust the baseline shift.
Here's my latest tutorial I just finished. I applied a gradient on the background and switched all the different layers around. For the text layers, I changed the format and layout to give the poster more personality.
Here's my progress on my tutorials and I just finished page 5-37. I used the gradient tool to fill in the background and moved the images around to make the poster more appealing.
I took these photos at Mission Hills High School. To view all the photos I've taken, go to my Portfolio.
The tutorial I am currently working on in Photography Period 1 is on page 5-36 in the Adobe PhotoshopCS6 book. I'm not learning anything new yet on these tutorials because these are just skill reviews. I'm at the end of the chapter, so I'm just reviewing what I know. In this chapter I learned about using filters, opacity, and blending modes.
The design on the left was my previous teeshirt design for the W.A.S.C teeshirt contest, and the design on the right is my new, updated design. I took off the caption 'W.A.S.C.' on the first logo and added the 'Gear Up' logo because the school wanted that on the teeshirt. When I designed this teeshirt I planned on the logo only being on the front of the teeshirt and nothing on the back, which is why there is no second logo.
1. What I liked most about my t-shirt was the little graduation hat I put on the number 3. It's symbolic because our "3 G's" are meant to lead us up to graduation.
2. What I would do differently if I had more time would to create this in Adobe Illustrator. I don't know how to use it, so I would have taught myself. The logo would look better on AI because if it was blown up to be bigger, the logo wouldn't be pixelated. 3. What I learned about quick deadlines was that you cannot slack off and you must work efficiently in the time that you are given. 4.What I like about working on photoshop is that I have the ability to manipulate photos and make them the way I want. Here is the T-shirt design I came up with and also my thumbnail sketches. I worked by myself on this project.
I felt extremely unprepared when doing this project. Being in a beginners photography class, I was expected to create a logo by using a program that I did not know how to work. I also was only given about 3 days to complete this task, which was very frustrating. https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/ooo/symphony/trunk/main/extras/source/gallery/education/ http://www.clker.com/cliparts/b/4/c/6/13079939091345143303claw-marks_design-hi.png In my tutorials, I just finished the last lesson in chapter 5. I started this chapter with the picture of the boy and the basketball, which had a blank background. I learned how to change the background color using the eyedropper tool, add new colors to the swatches panel, use the gradient tool, and learned how to match colors. When comparing the image I created on Photoshop to the one in the book, they look exactly alike, which means I followed the directions correctly. Our whole class is currently working on the "Depth of Field" project. I've taken a couple decent photos to use for this project, but I need to go out and take a few more photos. The picture above is one of the photos I've taken that I'm currently editing in raw file.
